‘Mon the Biff

On the 28th of March this year the Glasgow music scene was brought to me in Ireland. With King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut proudly claiming Biffy Clyro’s first shows at their renowned venue in Glasgow, the lads have come a long way in now selling out worldwide arena tours. Continue reading

Johnny Marvel need you!

Johnny Marvel need you!

Glasgow, I need your help.

I am currently playing the part of the proud big sister as my little brother makes his way in the music scene with his band Johnny Marvel. With a sound influenced by the likes of The Red Hot Chilli Peppers which the boys themselves describe as garage/punk, they swept away Belfast in the battle of the bands and are now heading to Dublin. With the next round taking place in April there isn’t much time to get this page shared and liked so get on Facebook and LIKE LIKE LIKE to see them win.

Go on, be a gem.

Thanks.

Chvrches Home Coming

chvrches

You may recognise Chvrches as a band currently storming the charts and blaring through our ipod, radio and television speakers. Taking the music world by storm, many people forget this modest trio are Glasgow born and bred.

After coming fifth on the BBC’s Sound Of 2013 list, the band seem to have come full circle as they are came home to perform at a venue loved by many, including me: Glasgow’s The Arches. The synthpop trio rocked the house with their electric beats, proving that their sell out of tickets in seven minutes was worth it.

So, note to self, get on the Chvrches ticket hunt, you can’t miss out!

GingerBeardMen Video Shoot

The arrival of Saturday saw me taking part in my first ever music video shoot. With GingerBeardMen’s new single Steggasaurus, came the exciting prospect of shooting their first video. And as I’m lucky enough to call the boys my friends, I was called upon to take on my role as a dancing head (all will be revealed soon).

Walking into what used to be my friend’s flat but now looked like a proper studio was ever so slightly intimidating, but after a couple of shoots everyone got the hang of silly dancing and having a laugh with it. With a wrap called at midnight, a lot of hard work went into this and it was a great experience being part of it. Proud of the lads.

Stay posted to see the finished outcome.
